TELEPATHIC DANCE
This score can be seen as a case-study in the complexity of authorship.
NOTES by Alice Martucci:
Taking position, finding the right one to send this dance, thorough intuition and fantasy finding exactly the one. Doing the best to transmit. And then the dance flows and it takes form, and it finds shapes and rhythms. It connects the poles, the sending and receiving, in a common effort of being present, alert and true to the dance itself. It’s not a goal for us to reach but a horizon to walk along. One step at the time, the dance happens through each movement, though or sensation, receiving the dance as an encounter, not completely certain and eternally in doubt. Doing the best to translate all the inputs, all the layers through the complexity of a dancing body
This score is grounded in the knowledge that we are constantly, albeit unconsciously, sending and receiving things.
One person is moving, and one is watching. Both turn their attention to the fact that the watcher is sending the dance that is danced by the mover.
The dance that is sent gains a form as it is being danced.
Both partners are collaborating authors of the dance, and both are its spectators.
More than one person may act as the mover, and more than one person may act as the watcher.
